Burnout and exhaustion
I stop working, but I never feel rested.
I close my laptop and tell myself the day is over, but my body does not seem to believe me. My shoulders stay lifted. My thoughts keep rehearsing tomorrow.
Even when I have an evening to myself, I spend it trying to recover correctly. A walk, a meal, an early night—everything starts to feel like another task.
I miss the kind of rest that arrives without being earned. I know I am tired. I just do not know how to put the day down yet.
